Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery sector enjoys trade surplus of over US$8bil in H1


HANOI (Xinhua): Vietnam has recorded an estimated agro-forestry-fishery trade surplus of US$8.28 billion during the first half of 2024, surging 62.4 per cent year on year, Vietnam News Agency has reported, citing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Agro-forestry-fishery exports totaled about US$29.2 billion dollars during the cited period, up 19 per cent from the same period last year, while imports stood at some 20.92 billion dollars, said the report.

Timber and wood products posted the highest trade surplus at US$6.16 billion dollars, followed by coffee (US$3.14 billion) and fruits and vegetables (US$2.42 billion dollars).

The United States, China and Japan remained the largest importers of agro-forestry-fishery products from Vietnam in H1. - Xinhua
