Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah sends congratulatory message to new UK prime minister

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam sent a message of congratulations to Sir Keir Starmer on the occasion of his appointment as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In the message, the Sultan wished Starmer much success and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the UK will continue to achieve greater heights of progress and prosperity.

The Sultan also stated that the UK is a trusted partner.

This year, the two countries celebrate its 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations signifying an important milestone in the longstanding relationship shared between both nations.

The lasting relationship shared by both countries continues through excellent partnership in areas of mutual interest and close cooperation in the Asean-UK Dialogue Relations as well as the Commonwealth.

Additionally, Sultan Bolkiah looks forward to meeting Starmer to further deepen both personal friendship and much-valued relations for the mutual benefit of both people and countries.

In ending the message, His Majesty expressed best wishes for Starmer’s continued good health and happiness. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
