BANGKOK: Thailand's Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has congratulated Keir Starmer and the British Labour Party on their historic landslide win during the United Kingdom General Election.

Srettha said he looks forward to working with Starmer and his team in strengthening Thai-UK diplomatic ties.

"As strategic partners, I look forward to working with you to strengthen our close Thai-UK collaboration on shared priorities and celebrating the 170th anniversary of Thailand-UK diplomatic ties next year.

"Best wishes as you embark on this promising new chapter for Britain," he said in his official X account on Friday (July 5).

The Labour Party, led by Starmer, won 412 seats in the 650-seat House of Commons. - Bernama
