NEW DELHI: Four Indian army soldiers were killed and six injured when their vehicles were attacked by militants in the Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district on Monday (July 8).

The militants lobbed a grenade and opened fire on a military patrol around 3.30pm near Badnota village, 120km from Kathua town, according to Indian media reports, citing police and defence officials.

Troop reinforcements were sent to the area and a search for the militants was under way, the reports said.

The attack comes after six militants and two soldiers were killed in gunfights over the weekend in Kashmir's Kulgam region. - Bernama
