Record 115 countries to attend Hiroshima peace ceremony on Aug 6

HIROSHIMA (Japan): Representatives from a record 115 countries plus the European Union are slated to attend this year’s peace memorial ceremony in the western Japan city of Hiroshima on Aug 6, the municipal government said Monday (July 8).

The ceremony marks the 79th anniversary of the US atomic bombing of the city in the closing days of World War II.
