Two crew members evacuated when supply craft sinks off Bedok Jetty

SINGAPORE: Two crew members on board a supply craft were safely evacuated when their boat sank off Bedok Jetty on July 8, said the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

In response to queries from The Straits Times on July 11, MPA said the supply craft had taken on water and sank at the anchorage, about 3km off the jetty, at 10.30am on July 8.

“The two crew members on board the supply craft were safely transferred to another craft. No injuries were reported by the crew,” MPA said.

“No pollution was reported and navigational safety in the area remains unaffected,” MPA added.

Arrangements are being made to recover the vessel as the authority investigates the incident. - The Straits Times/ANN
