Task force to probe slaying of 2 Australians, Filipina in Tagaytay City

MANILA: The police formed a special body to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two Australian nationals and a Filipina in a hotel in Tagaytay City, Cavite on Wednesday (July 10).

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A said the Special Investigation Task Group “SITG David Fisk” was created to investigate the killings of “David,” 57; “Lucita, 55, both Australian citizens; and “Mary,” 30.

The bodies of the victims were found at 1:35pm with their hands and feet tied and their mouths covered with packaging tape inside one of the hotel rooms, the police report said.

“For now, we are conducting a thorough investigation based on the evidence that we have collected in our initial investigation,” Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas (pic), PRO-4A commander, said in a statement on Friday (July 12).

The investigators were back-tracking video footage from closed-circuit television cameras in the hotel and its premises for the identification of the killers.

“Rest assured that we will provide updates on any new information that comes to light on this case. We will make sure that those responsible for the heinous killings will be punished,” Lucas said. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
