PMO in Brunei marks royal birthday

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and its departments held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Major General (Rtd) Datuk Paduka Seri Awang Halbi Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour at the event organised by the Department of Councils of State with cooperation from the Security and Law Division of the PMO.

The ceremony, held at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque, also saw the attendance of the Chief Syar’ie Judge, deputy ministers, special invited guests, permanent secretaries and heads of departments as well as officers and personnel under the PMO.

The ceremony began with the mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin and a special prayer to commemorate His Majesty’s birthday.

The event concluded with a mass Asar prayer, led by Ash-Shalilheen Mosque imam Awangku Muhammad Rafiuddin Ramle.

The event was held to express gratitude for the wise leadership of His Majesty and pray to Allah the Almighty to bless the monarch and the royal family with good health, longevity, prosperity and continued reign with faith and divine guidance. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
