Temburong gathers to celebrate Sultan’s birthday

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Hundreds of participants from Temburong district, including school students, youths, members of the National Martial Arts Association, and uniformed personnel, participated in special performances on Thursday (July 25).

The event was part of a get-together ceremony to welcome His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, to Bangar town, Temburong at the Civic Centre Complex.

The event was held in honour of the monarch’s 78th birthday anniversary.

Thousands of citizens and residents queued to see the monarch, with tourists joining the line to express their gratitude.

The reception from the crowd was warm and diverse, including people with different abilities, senior citizens, former uniformed personnel, women’s associations, mosque committee members, Muslim converts, NGOs, ethnic groups, PKBN members, village consultative council members, neighbourhood watch, and the general public.

His Majesty was accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

The event featured a special show titled “Ruler for the People and People for the Ruler” (Raja untuk Rakyat dan Rakyat untuk Raja).

The show’s concept, “Blessed Ruler, Zikir Nation” (Raja Berkat Negara Zikir), highlighted the reciprocal relationship between the Ruler and the People.

The performance emphasised the monarch’s continued provision of various facilities and support for the people, and the people’s gratitude and readiness to contribute to the country’s development. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
