Myanmar's Bagan wins bronze medal in Asean Smoke-Free Award

YANGON: Myanmar's ancient city of Bagan has won the bronze medal of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Smoke-Free Award, the official daily The Mirror reported on Thursday (Aug 1).

The ancient city of Myanmar received the bronze award along with Thailand's Saensuk municipality, the report said.

The gold medal of the Asean Smoke-Free Award was given to Iloilo city in the Philippines, and the silver was awarded to Bogor City in Indonesia, it said. Luang Prabang in Laos received an honorable mention, it added.

The awards will be conferred during the 16th Asean Health Ministers' Meeting on Aug 8 in Vientiane, Laos, it said. - Xinhua
