Authorities seized 38 cardboard boxes containing various types of animals, including 10 cobras and a crocodile, at Mae Pa village in the western Mae Sot District.

The animals were intended to be transported to Shwe Kokko new town in Myawady Township, located on the embankment of the Mori River in Myanmar.

Acting under the instructions of Colonel Natthakorn Ruentip of the Ratchamnu Special Task Force, the security force from the 431 Battalion searched a suspicious cargo truck at Mae Pa village in Mae Sot District.

They discovered 38 boxes containing various kinds of animals and seafood. Thai authorities have charged the two drivers with the illegal transport of animals.

The detained drivers testified that they were transporting the 38 boxes to import and sell the animals in Myanmar.
