New H5N1 bird flu case raises total in Cambodia to eight since January


PHNOM PENH: Another human case of H5N1 bird flu has been confirmed on a four-year-old boy from southeast Cambodia's Svay Rieng province, raising the number of the cases to eight since the start of 2024, said a Ministry of Health's statement late on Thursday (August 1), reported Xinhua.

"Laboratory results from the National Institute of Public Health showed on Tuesday (July 30) that the boy was positive for H5N1 virus," the statement said.
