BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) launched the first in a series of collaborative events designed to enhance the business ecosystem in Brunei.

This first session was held on Thursday (Aug 8) at the Main Auditorium of the Design & Technology Building at Anggerek Desa Technology Park, focused on raising awareness among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The event, hosted in collaboration with the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE), aimed to share critical information on the various services offered by agencies under the Ministry of Finance and Economy that support local industry and business development. Participating agencies included the IBE, Weights and Measures Unit (SDT), Registry of Companies and Business Names (ROCBN), Brunei Darussalam Standards and Accreditation Centre (PSABD), and the Cooperative Development Unit (UPK).

Around 80 attendees from various sectors attended the session, which included briefings, sharing sessions, and an interactive Question and Answer segment, allowing attendees to engage directly with presenters and gain deeper insights into the available services.

A representative from Dewan Perniagaan & Perusahaan Melayu Brunei (DPPMB) remarked, “The session was incredibly informative and provided valuable insights into the services offered by the Ministry of Finance and Economy. It has helped us understand the importance of compliance and how local businesses can benefit from these services.”

The BEDB plans to continue this series of collaborative events, working with government and other agencies to provide vital information to Brunei’s business community. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
