BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: A walking event to raise awareness for epilepsy and promote its early detection was held at the Jalan Menteri Besar Recreational Park on Sunday (Aug 11).

The Epilepsy Awareness Brisk Walk, organised by the Health Promotion Centre, in collaboration with Gleneagles Jerudong Park Medical Centre (GJPMC) Sdn Bhd and the COPE Project (Community Outreach for People with Epilepsy), had participants briskly walk a 1.4km route around the park.

Executive Director of Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) Dr Haji Mazrul Adimin bin Haji Awang Besar was the guest of honour.

The event carried the theme, “Stepping Towards Understanding Epilepsy,” and aimed to provide comprehensive education, foster community support, promote early diagnosis, and ensure effective management of epilepsy.

The COPE Project hopes that this campaign will empower Brunei Darussalam to recognise, respond to, and assist people with epilepsy by 2030. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
