Former Viet provincial leaders arrested in illegal gambling case

HANOI: Prosecution proceedings have been launched against two former provincial leaders for their links to an illegal gambling case at Pullman Hotel in Hanoi, according to the Ministry of Public Security.

They are Ngo Ngoc Duc, 50, former secretary of Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee, and Ho Dai Dung, 52, former vice chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee.

More than a dozen others were also detained for their involvement in the case, following a police raid at King Club on the first floor of the Pullman Hotel at 40 Cat Linh Street, Dong Da District.

Three South Korean nationals, including the club’s manager, were also among those arrested.

Further investigations are being carried out by the police. — Vietnam News/ANN
