Myanmar earns over US$1.72bil from agricultural exports in April-July

YANGON: Myanmar earned over US$1.72 billion from agricultural exports in the first four months of the 2024-25 fiscal year (from April 1 to July 26), the state-run media Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) reported on Sunday (Aug 18).

The country generated over US$1.4 billion from sea exports and US$298 million from border trade.

Key agricultural products in Myanmar are rice, broken rice, beans and pulses, corn, edible oil crops and rubber.

During this period, Myanmar earned over US$290 million from rice and broken rice exports, over US$700 million from beans and pulses exports, and over US$365 million from corn exports.

The main export markets are China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, the Philippines, Singapore, Pakistan, Belgium and Italy. - Xinhua/ANN
