MANILA: The Philippine government has reported the passports of Alice Guo (pic), her siblings, and business associate Cassandra Ong to the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) for “appropriate action.”
Sen. Risa Hontiveros bared this in a Kapihan sa Senado forum on Wednesday (Aug 21), saying that she was informed about the matter by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
“ So based on my information from the DFA, the Philippine passports of the aforementioned individuals – [Alice Guo or] Guo Hua Ping, her siblings Sheila, Wesley Leal Guo, and Cassandra Ong — the Philippine passports of [these] individuals have also been reported to the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime Interpol for their appropriate action,” said Hontiveros.
With this, the senator said the Interpol, particularly its Philippine component — Philippine Center on Transnational Crime – can now decide on the “appropriate actions” that it may take.
This includes the decision on whether Guo and the others will be included in the organisation’s blue or red list.
“It has also come to their attention as related to the issue of transnational crime. So it is clear that the personality of Guo Hua Ping and the other three are of interest to them – to Interpol because they are accomplices or are being investigated and one of them is the subject of an arrest warrant of the Senate in relation to transnational crimes... to Pogos in the Philippines,” said Hontiveros.
In the end, Hontiveros noted that Guo and her alleged cohorts’ world has further shrunk, especially now that even an international agency has been notified about their alleged crimes.
It was Hontiveros who initially disclosed that Guo had left the country in July.
