BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Over a thousand of students exploring further education options in Malaysia attended the first day of the Yes2Malaysia Education Expo 2024 (August Edition) at a hotel in Berakas in the Brunei capital.

Organised by Rexpocentral Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) and MEG Educational Services (Brunei), with support from the High Commission of Malaysia in Brunei Darussalam, the event serves as a gateway to future opportunities for those seeking the ideal university, aiming to upskill, or exploring options for a child.

“We are thrilled by the success of the Yes2Malaysia Education Expo 2024,” said Rexpocentral Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Rezal Chan. “The turnout and enthusiasm highlight the need for accessible quality education. We look forward to day two and beyond!”

In an interview, Chan said, “We typically host this expo when examination results are released, holding it twice yearly in January and August. There are several reasons why Bruneians choose Malaysia for further studies: proximity, cultural similarities, and affordable quality education due to the attractiveness of the Malaysian ringgit.”

He noted that many participating schools offer partial scholarships exclusively during the expo, providing Bruneians with a valuable opportunity to learn about these options.

“I encourage anyone considering higher education to view Malaysia as a strong option.

With over 1,000 programmes from various universities at this expo, it’s an excellent platform for exploring educational opportunities,” Chan added. “Planning ahead is crucial, especially for specific fields like medicine or engineering. Students should understand entry requirements and ensure they meet the criteria.”

The expo features representatives from top Malaysian universities and colleges, including Asia Pacific University (APU), Taylor’s University, Sunway University, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and more.

On the final day of The Yes2Malaysia Education Expo 2024 today, visitors can enjoy a day of discovery, opportunity, and inspiration.

The expo from 3pm to 7pm, offers one-on-one sessions with university representatives for personalised advice and scholarship information.

Attendees can gain exclusive insights into admissions, campus life, and career paths, and experience cultural performances and interactive displays that celebrate the strong ties between Brunei and Malaysia. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
