The operation was conducted in collaboration between the specialised forces of the Anti-Drug Department and the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, under the coordination of Phnom Penh Municipal Court deputy prosecutor Kim Hong San on Aug 24.

The forces conducted investigations and crackdowns on illegal storage, transportation and trafficking of narcotics at three locations: Borey Phong Suy in Por Sen Chey district’s Kakab 1 commune, a home in Tuol Sampov Village in Russey Keo district’s Tuol Sangke 1 commune and in Komreang Village, Kamboul district.

The seized evidence included 254.29kg of methamphetamine (Ice), 127.61kg of ketamine and 7.7kg of heroin, totalling over 389.59kg. Additionally, one Prius vehicle was confiscated.

The six suspects, all Cambodian nationals, included two women.

The Anti-Drug Department confirmed that the suspects and evidence have been transfered to Phnom Penh Municipal Court for legal proceedings.

In another case, Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court ordered the detention of a 41-year-old Chinese national named Lu Da on charges of illegal transportation and trafficking of narcotics and unauthorised entry into Cambodia under Article 40 of the Law on Drug Control and Article 29 of the Immigration Law on Aug 26.

According to a statement from the provincial court, the authorities stopped a black Lexus RX-300 at a drug and weapons checkpoint.

Upon inspection, they found two large packages of MDMA (ecstasy) weighing over 10kg, hidden in a suitcase inside the vehicle.
