Thailand to move ahead with casinos plan: Official


BANGKOK: Thailand's new government will move ahead with plans for a mega entertainment complex that would house casinos, a deputy finance minister said on Thursday (Sept 5).

A public hearing has concluded and 80% of those who attended agreed with the plan, Julapun Amornvivat said.

Most forms of gambling are currently illegal in Thailand, though underground betting is rampant. - Reuters
