Two dead, over 600 hospitalised with severe diarrhoea in Yangon

YANGON: Two people have died and over 600 others have been hospitalised with severe diarrhea in Hlaingtharya township of Myanmar's Yangon region from July 5 to Monday (Sept 2), an official from the Ministry of Health told Xinhua on Friday (Sept 6).

The health official said that the two deceased had underlying health conditions.

As of Tuesday, 579 of the hospitalised patients have been discharged, and 36 remain under treatment, he added.

In response to the situation, community clinics have been set up in Hlaingtharya township, and the Ministry of Health is conducting field visits and implementing disease control measures, he added. - Xinhua
