Brunei cyclists keep up against Asia’s best in South Korea

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Four members of the local cycling club, Suci Amigos, competed in the third round of the Asia Enduro Series 2024, International Mountain Bike (MTB) Competition at the Wonju MTB Park, in South Korea and finished with favourable results against the best riders in Asia.

In the Master C category, Pengiran Anak Hishamuddin Shah achieved a third-place finish with the time of 41.31.16.

In Category B, Ridzuan Mohd Esa took fifth place with a time of 36.09.68 while Haidir Al Rahman claimed seventh place with a time of 41.58.50.

Meanwhile, Richard Au suffered injuries after several crashes during practice and was forced to abort his races.

Team manager Pengiran Muhammad Nizem Metassan said, “We are really happy with our results. It shows that our cyclists can compete with international riders.”

The team will next compete in the Brunei Enduro Series 2024 at the end of the month. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
