Laos to ensure road safety during Asean Summits

VIENTIANE: (Bernama-Xinhua) Laos' Ministry of Public Security organised a training session for traffic police officers to ensure tight security during the 44th and 45th Asean Summits and related meetings.

A total of 180 officers joined the training, taking place in Lao capital Vientiane from Sept 10 to 15, according to the Lao Security News report on Thursday (Sept 12), said Xinhua.

The training aims to ensure safety and smooth traffic on routes leading to meeting venues, places of accommodation, embassies, offices, and other places, so that delegates can travel in comfort.

The training focuses on making officials know how to coordinate with the relevant parties in case of accidents and roadblocks.
