India sends humanitarian aid for Typhoon Yagi victims in Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos


NEW DELHI/HANOI (Bernama): India has sent 55 tonnes of humanitarian supplies for Typhoon Yagi victims in Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos.

The powerful storm has caused huge destruction in Southeast Asian countries.

India sent a navy ship carrying 10 tonnes of aid such as dry ration, clothing and medicines to Myanmar on Sunday, while 35 tonnes of aid, including water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils and solar lanterns, were sent via the air force to Vietnam, Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said.

Laos will receive 10 tonnes of aid comprising power generation equipment, water purification items, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, blankets and sleeping bags. - Bernama
