Cambodian parliament approves PM Hun Manet's cabinet reshuffle


PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): Cambodia's National Assembly on Friday approved a minor reshuffle of Prime Minister Hun Manet's cabinet, with two ministers swapping their portfolios.

At the request of Hun Manet, the National Assembly approved the appointments of Minister of Tourism Sok Soken as the minister of inspection, and Minister of Inspection Huot Hak as the minister of tourism.

A total of 106 lawmakers in attendance, including Hun Manet, unanimously gave their vote of confidence to the two ministers, National Assembly President Khuon Sudary announced the result of the vote.

Speaking before the voting session, Hun Manet said the minor reshuffle was made in response to "the fundamental need for promoting more efficient implementation of the political programs of the government in the seventh legislature of the National Assembly and the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I".

Hun Manet-led Cabinet was formed on Aug. 22, 2023 for a five-year term.- XInhua
