BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Some 250 kilogrammes of washed-up rubbish along the Sungai Liang Recreational Park beach was cleared by local scouts during a clean-up campaign on Sunday (Sept 22).

The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) came out in force, with 350 scout leaders and members participating in the event organised in conjunction with World Clean-Up Day 2024 and the International Day of Peace.

Kampong Sungai Liang Village Head Mohammad Haszrin Bagol said he hoped the initiative will inspire similar campaigns and programmes to be held frequently at other public spaces.

“This is to ensure that everyone can enjoy the pristine beauty found across the nation,” he said. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
