VIENTIANE: (Bernama-Yonhap) South Korea will provide US$500,000 worth of humanitarian aid to Laos following devastating floods caused by a powerful typhoon that left more than 300 people dead, the foreign ministry said on Wednesday (Sept 25), according to Yonhap news agency.

The government hopes the aid will help the South-East Asian country with recovery efforts and its people to return to their daily lives swiftly, the ministry said.

Typhoon Yagi struck Laos earlier this month, causing floods and landslides that have killed over 380 people, and displaced at least 176,000 in the northern and central regions. - Bernama-Yonhap
