More anarchy in Myanmar - Explosions at Yangon ward administration offices injure over 10 civilians

YANGON (Eleven Media Group/ANN): Explosions occurred on Monday afternoon at the administrative offices of Alatt Chaung and Sat San wards in Kyimyindaing Township, Yangon Region, injuring over 10 people in the capital.

Those injured including locals who were there to apply for smart cards, according to reports.

Seven of the people, including individuals who had come to the Alatt Chaung Ward administrative office to process smart cards and members of the ward administration, were injured by shrapnel from the explosion.

The explosion at the Alatt Chaung Ward administrative office occurred when a person donated rice bags and oil containers, allegedly for flood victims and the poor. The explosion originated from a bomb concealed in one of the rice bags, according to some Telegram channels close to security forces.

A similar explosion occurred at the Sat San Ward administrative office on September 30 around noon, where four people were reportedly injured after an explosion between oil containers.

The injured individuals were taken to Military Hospital No. 2 (500-bed) for treatment.

On the evening of September 26, two PDF members shot and killed U Zaw Min Tun, an administrative body member, living in Aung San Ward, in front of Aung San Market in Insein Township.

On September 20 also, gunmen entered the 107th Ward administrative office in Dagon Myothit (South) Township, and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of the ward administrator and a member, and injuring a clerk.

The PDF group "Anonymous Force (Yangon Military Division Branch)" claimed responsibility for the September 20 attack at the 107th Ward office, according to some exile media outlets.

Later, on September 28, the State Administration Council announced the arrest of 12 individuals, including the leader of the Anonymous Force group. - Eleven Media Group/ANN
