Cambodia's Siem Reap touted to be top tourist destination for Australians in 2025

PHNOM PENH (Khmer Times): A new report from travel-comparison website Skyscanner states that interest from Australians in Cambodia’s Siem Reap has rocketed by over 500%.

According to Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2025 report, the most popular place Australians want to travel next year is the home of the Angkor temple complex – an increase of 529%.

The report , which lists ‘happening hangouts have enjoyed the biggest increases in searches over the past 12 month‘ states that ‘Siem Reap in Cambodia is the city to visit if you want to see the renowned Angkor Wat temple.

The landmark has remained a popular sight also due to the 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider movie.’

It eclipses it’s nearest rival, Krabi in Thailand – which only scores a 141% rise – compared to Siem Reap’s 529%. - Khmer Times
