Myanmar junta leader heads delegation to factory and industry visits in China


YANGON: Myanmar junta leader Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing, conducted a series of visits to factories and exhibitions during an official trip to China recently.

On Nov 9, the delegation visited Hytera Communications Corporation and BYD Automotive Company in Shenzhen.

At Hytera, the group was welcomed by the company's founder and chairman, Chen Qingzhou, who showcased the company's milestones, globally used communication technologies, and innovative solutions for emergency response and event management.

The senior general engaged in discussions, sharing insights and exploring further applications of the technologies.

Later, the delegation visited The Tide Rises in the Pearl River Exhibition Center in Guangdong Province, marking the 40th anniversary of Guangdong’s reform and opening-up initiatives.

The exhibition highlighted the region's historical transformation, development in various sectors, and contributions to China's economic progress.

During the evening, the group witnessed a LED light show at the Civic Centre, which utilised advanced technology to create an engaging display. They also attended a formal dinner hosted by the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).

On Nov 10, the delegation toured BYD’s automotive production facilities, where they observed demonstrations of the BYD-U9 electric vehicle model, components of electric vehicles (EVs) and trains, and developments in battery technology.

In Zhongyue Aviation UAV Firefighting-Drone Co. Ltd. in Chongqing, they explored high-tech drones used for disaster response, including firefighting demonstrations.

SERES Automotive Company, which provided insights into its history and electric vehicle production processes.

Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park, where the delegation learned about trade routes connecting China, Europe, and Western nations, as well as logistics developments along the Yangtze River.

Weima Agricultural Machinery Company, where they examined various agricultural equipment, including water pumps and snow-removal machines, exported to neighboring and international markets.

Other key locations visited included the Chongqing Planning Exhibition, showcasing urban planning and cultural preservation, and Yuantongsi Port, where the delegation boarded a vessel on the Yangtze River to meet Chongqing business leaders. Discussions centered on enhancing China-Myanmar economic collaboration and investment opportunities.
