Sultan of Brunei visits Naval School of Peru


The luncheon hosted in honour of Sultan Hassanal’s visit.

LIMA: His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, on Wednesday (Nov 13) visited Escuela Naval de Peru (Naval School of Peru) in La Punta, Callao, Republic of Peru.

Accompanying the Ruler was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

Sultan Hassanal was welcomed upon arrival by Minister of Defence of the Republic of Peru Walter Astudillo; Chief of the Naval School of Peru Rear Admiral Luis Leon Cores, and several Peruvian Senior Navy Officers.

The Ruler then walked pass a Static Guard of Honour towards the Admiral Grau memorial monument for a Floral Offering Ceremony.

Sultan Hassanal later proceeded to Edificio Aguirre to witness the Peruvian Marine Corps Fanning Company display and also attended a luncheon. Prior to departure, His Majesty signed a Visitor’s Book and received a pesambah.

The Naval School of Peru is an institution in charge of the undergraduate education of future officers of the Peruvian Navy, which focuses on six pillars of training namely, academic; naval; physical; sociocultural; nautical; ethical and moral. Upon successful completion of the five-year program, cadets obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Maritime Sciences, and receive the rank of Frigate Ensign. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
