'I'm his biggest ever fan now' say fans after Arijit Singh rocking incredible show at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil


MALAYSIAN fans were just left in awe as Bollywood superstar Arijit Singh just vowed them with an incredible and mesmerising performance that lasted for almost four hours at the jam-packed Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

For all the talk and the excitement for the show, Arijit just topped it even further with almost an one-man show performance and that too a concert that lasted for almost four hours.

Add another point to the concert, for all that duration, Arijit hardly even took a minute break, was at his gracious self from the very start and even inter-reacted with his loving fans throughout the show, On top of all that, he even (and this too while singing his songs), he actually took time to sign many autographs for his fans.

And he even showed his humbleness for all the fans with his parting words: "Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You. I cannot thank all enough for coming here and joining me this evening. Indeed, I'm a very, very happy person tonight. And now as we say goodbye, please drive home safe and always stay alert on the road. Go home safe and I wish every of my fans here well."

And just when everyone thought it was over, Arijit even gave an encore that included parts of his Tamil song and good wishes tunes. Simply a class act.

That basically brought the arena down in such thunderous claps and cheers from his fans, almost 10,000 in number that jam-packed the Axiata Arena on a cool and raining Saturday night.

Special mention also goes to Arijit's three leading guitarists - Aditya Benia (lead guitar), Raj Kumar Dewan (bass), Jain Nath Paul (guitar) - who simply rocked the arena with their excellent playing. Simple stunning at times as the crowd went wild during many of Arijit's songs.

"What a show. This was simply unforgettable," said Ariq Mustaq Khan, who hails from Pakistan and has been working in Malaysia for more than years. "Me and my wife came here and every cent spent here was well spent.

"I have been following this guy for some time. The songs has always been good but watching him live and him performing the song in different versions, simply first class."

An excited Shani Kaur, 19, said she and her family members always had been his fans, but now she is his biggest.

"I can only saw "Wow". I simply love him, his voice, his performances and his song. It was superb. And getting a chance to watch it live. I'm very thankful and I hope one day I can catch him in another concert in the future."

Praveen Nath, who travelled all the way from Ipoh, said it was an event that he will not forget in a hurry.

"I heard from many friends in India that his live performances were simply superb. Man, they were right. It was incredible. For a singer who kept on going throughout the night, and never letting up. He deserves all the praises and success that he has achived in his life," said the final year business-finance student.

Computer tech specialist Ranveer Singh added that he was completely bowled over the concert.

"You know I saw everyone near me cheering throughout the four-hour show. It was that good and excellent. Everyone enjoyed the performances. The back-up dancers were just superb. Even the stage lighting was of international. Truly worth the time here. Me and my friends (which included all races, he said) are simply going home so very happy.

"Arijit's music is universally loved and we know why now," said Ranveer.

The hotly-anticipated show marked the return of one of Bollywood’s hottest playback singers back in Malaysia after a decade and it was brought in by organisers Hitman Solutions and Cinestar Events.

The concert not only attracted local fans but also drew an international audience from countries like India, the Maldives, Pakistan, Australia, and across South-East Asia.

For the record, Arijit is considered as one of the best singers of his generation. The recipient of several accolades including two National Film Awards in India and seven Filmfare Awards, he has recorded songs in several Indian languages, predominantly Hindi and Bengali.

He is noted for his ability of performing songs in diverse music genres and is acclaimed for his significant contributions to the contemporary Bollywood Music.

Incidentally, he even had the whole stadium cheering and singing along with him when he belted out the famous "Tum Hi Ho" song on Saturday night.
