‘Priceless experience’ awaits Brunei tourists to Malaysia

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: There are now more reasons to shop in Malaysia, especially this coming year end holiday following the launch of the Malaysia Year End Sale 2024 (MYES 2024) from Nov 15 to Jan 1, 2025.

The campaign involves collaboration with over 60 shopping malls and tourism partners, with 129 exciting activities and promotions awaiting every tourist visiting shopping malls across Malaysia.

The Malaysia Year End Sale Campaign – Brunei Edition was officially launched by High Commissioner-Designate of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam Datuk Mohd Aini Atan with managing director of Straits Central Agencies (B) Sdn Bhd Musa Adnin, Baiduri Bank Head of Card Business Davern Lim and Director of Tourism Malaysia Brunei Darussalam Hazrina Azman in a ceremony at Tourism Malaysia Brunei Darussalam’s office on Tuesday (Nov 19).

The Malaysia Year End Sale campaign is an effort to simplify and enhance the shopping experience, providing more value and joy to every traveller.

It is also the time to indulge in a variety of delicious Malaysian dishes – from street food to the diverse offerings of Malaysia’s multicultural community, as well as the gastronomic experience of East meeting West.

The shopping and dining experience becomes even more exciting with a variety of entertainment, recreation, and leisure activities available in contemporary and integrated shopping malls across the country.

Seven leading shopping malls are ready to hold Midnight Sales in conjunction with the Malaysia Year End Sale campaign giving tourists the opportunity to shop until late night.

The shopping malls are Sutera Mall in Johor Baru, The Exchange TRX, Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang, Freeport A’Farmosa Outlet, Noor Arfa Craft Complex, AEON Mall Tebrau City, and AEON Mall Kota Baru.

The director of Tourism Malaysia Brunei Darussalam said, “The promotion on Malaysia Year End Sale will be intensified through mass media and offers discounted ‘Cuti-Cuti Malaysia’ hotel stay packages in collaboration with Straits Central Agencies.

“Tourism Malaysia aims to attract more tourists from Brunei to visit Malaysia during this campaign in hopes for them to enjoy ‘MY Priceless Experience’ in line with the national sales campaign slogan.”

She added, “This initiative is expected to have a significant impact on the Bruneian tourist arrival to Malaysia.

“From January to September 2024, Malaysia recorded a total of 863,467 tourists from Brunei with an increase of 50.2 per cent against the same period in 2023, making it one of the top 10 markets for tourist arrivals to Malaysia.” – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
