Islamic music star Hafiz Hamidun releases latest masterpiece 'Raudah' - a song on his spiritual journey to Medinah

RENOWNED for his ability to blend soulful melodies with profound spiritual messages, Hafiz Hamidun remains a cornerstone of Malaysia’s Islamic music scene.

The celebrated singer, producer, and composer returns with his latest masterpiece, “Raudah” – a deeply personal and meaningful composition in conjunction with the upcoming Maulidur Rasul celebration.

Speaking about the inspiration behind “Raudah”, Hafiz shares, "The lyrics reflect my spiritual journey to Medinah, when I visited the Prophet's Mosque and prayed in Rawdah, also known as 'Garden of Paradise’' in Arabic.

"For Muslims, this sacred place holds immense significance, as it is believed that prayers offered here will be answered by Allah's grace. The song captures the awe, devotion, and longing I felt when witnessing the devotion of fellow pilgrims. It is a musical expression of the deep yearning to meet the Prophet Muhammad SAW in Jannah (Heaven)."

The chorus of “Raudah” echoes with a heartfelt plea for divine reunion with the Prophet, while the bridge pays tribute to him with prayers for peace and blessings.

"Overall, the song is a reflection of profound reverence and spiritual connection," Hafiz explains.

The production process for “Raudah” was swift yet meticulous. Hafiz reveals that it took only a week to compose and write the song, followed by another two weeks to record, mix, and master the final piece.

The track features contributions from both local musicians and international talents from Istanbul, infusing the song with a rich Middle Eastern essence and desert-inspired tones.

"I wanted the song to evoke happiness and cheerfulness. Preparing for Umrah or Hajj should fill us with joy, gratitude, and pride in being part of the Prophet Muhammad SAW’s Ummah," Hafiz adds.

In keeping with this spirit, he included salawat – praises for the Prophet – as a central part of the song.

Accompanying “Raudah” is a captivating music video, recorded during Hafiz’s recent Umrah pilgrimage. "The video captures my journey from Mecca to Medina on the high-speed train, and includes footage from the Prophet's Mosque, particularly around the Rawdah area," Hafiz recounts.

"Though I've visited the Prophet's Mosque many times, this visit was particularly special. I was blessed with over two hours in Rawdah, far beyond the usual 10-minute time slot allocated via the special application used for access. I even performed my dawn prayers there, and captured as much of the experience as possible using my phone."

Hafiz hopes that “Raudah” will evoke the same sense of joy, reverence, and longing in listeners that he experienced during its creation.

"I want this song to remind people of their love and devotion to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In honor of the Maulidur Rasul, let us all increase our salawat and strive to follow the sunnah of our beloved Prophet.

"For those who haven’t yet had the opportunity to visit the Prophet's Mosque for Umrah or Hajj, remember that you can still offer your prayers from wherever you are," he urges.

"Raudah” will be available for download on iTunes and can be streamed on all major platforms, including Apple Music, Deezer, KKBox, Spotify, YouTube, and YouTube Music.
