The starlets of Sabah shine like diamonds at 'A night with Sumandak Stars' concert at Zepp KL


In a night when history was made as nine top songstress from Sabah made headlines with superb performances during an unforgettable night during the 'A night with Sumandak Stars' at Zepp KL last weekend.

A concert like none before, it was the first time a concert that featured nine top stars from one state and it was lapped up by the full house turnout at the event who witness superb performances from singers - led by by the rising star Bella Astillah, Marsha Milan, Azharina, Adira Suhaimi, Nikki Palikat, Salma, Ayu Damit, Didi Astillah dan Wani Kayrie.

Brought to fans by top local promoter Orange International Entertainment, kudos also goes to the performers who were determined to give their best and impress the full house turnout at the arena.

Orange Entertainment CEO Dato’ Mohd Fadzli Idrus he was extremely happy with the turnout and also the performances of the Sabah starlets.

"This is the first time this kind of concert that showcased the stars of Sabah has ever been staged. I'm both humbled and extremely happy with the turn out and the success of such an event," said Dato' Fadzli.

"I would like the nine girls. They were at their best and this indeed an event that will be forgotten in the near future."

The nine singers also showcased their top songs and even had the fans singing along in almost all the songs that was showcased at the concert on Saturday. It was indeed a night that was full of emotion and incredibly entertaining for all the fans at the show.

The night began with a thunderous roar when all nine singers showcased the classic East Malaysia song 'Sumandak Sabah' which had the fans bringing down the roof at the arena.

At then young star Wani Kayrie too it a step further when she entertained the fans with her new single 'Aiman Tino' which is already a big favourite with local fans.

Then ace singer Ayu Damit sang her favourite 'Hanya di Mercu', which was the the top song at the reality show 'One in a Million', first heard almost two decades ago which incidentally had the fans rollicking to the sing;s tune.

Local Diva Marsha Milan then even made the tempo go even higher after singing 'Cinta' which incidentally was the second best song at the Anugerah Juara Lagu-36.

Marsha Milan pula menyerlah dengan lagu wajibnya, ‘Cinta’ yang meraih kedudukan naib juara di Anugerah Juara Lagu ke-36 (AJL36).

Then current top star Bella Istilah proved her worth when she sang her top hit ‘Tapi Bukan Denganmu’ which has the fans even singing along with her.

Bella's sister Didi then showed she is just as talented with her chart-busting 'Bermanja-manja' which even had the fans bogeying along with the Sabah lass.

The night then continued to heat up when Nikki Palikat together with Adira Suhaimi and Ayu had them all dancing away with the song 'Drama' which also had some super moves from the singers.

Of course, not to be upstaged season 5 Mentor champion Salma brought the heat up with popular songs 'Pujaan Hati' and with fans chanting for more Malaysian Queen of Soul Azharina had fans swwoning with her top hits like ‘Rawan’, ‘Seandainya’ and ‘Elegi Sepi’.

To make the night all sweeter, fans were given the highlight of the evening when all the singers combined together to give a medley of songs including 'Anak Kampung' and 'Original Sabahan'.

"This is a very successful experiment," said Dato' Fadzli. "This will open doors for more such events and it is indeed a spectacle for music fans.

"I take this opportunity to thank all fans for supporting us. Also I also thank all the help from Sabah officials and top VIPs. This has been a fantastic journey. Indeed, it was wonderful."
