Police seize 24 bottles of alcohol, 50 cartons of cigarettes in Temburong

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) successfully confiscated 24 bottles of alcohol and 50 cartons of cigarettes during an operation conducted by personnel from Bangar Police Station.

The seizure followed intelligence received regarding smuggling activities. At approximately 11:30pm officers from Bangar Police Station conducted surveillance in the Penuruan area of Kampung Buda-Buda, Temburong.

Police apprehended two local men and intercepted a white vehicle believed to be involved in suspicious activities. The suspects were found in possession of prohibited goods and were immediately taken into custody.

The contraband and the two suspects are currently being held at Bangar Police Station for further investigation.

The RBPF reminds the public that possession of prohibited items is a criminal offence that can negatively impact society. The police encourage anyone with information about criminal activities to report to the nearest police station or contact the emergency line at 993. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
