ISTANBUL (dpa): A rescue helicopter flew into a hospital in the southern Turkish province of Muğla and subsequently crashed, killing the four occupants, provincial governor İdris Akbıyık said on Sunday.

The deceased were the two pilots, a doctor and another individual. The cause of the accident was unclear.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his condolences to the victims in a post on X.

Akbıyık said the helicopter was set to fly to the neighbouring province of Antalya. It was foggy at the time of departure.

A video posted by the NTV broadcaster showed the helicopter lifting off in thick fog and drifting towards the hospital with its tail.
