1,600 Myanmar workers to be hired by over 450 Japanese firms


Myanmar workers seek employment abroad.

YANGON: More than 450 Japanese companies will recruit 1600 Myanmar workers, according to a statement released by Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo.

The embassy has carried out timely verifications of demand letters received from the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it said.

It verifies whether the labour supervisory company and factories/companies which offered jobs in Japan are officially established or not, and re-submits its findings with remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The embassy released the information of 451 demand letters submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after verifications in chronological order until 21 October 2024.

According to it, more than 450 Japanese companies will provide jobs for over 430 Myanmar male workers and over 1100 Myanmar female workers.

In a statement on 15 December, the embassy had said more than 400 Japanese firms would employ more than 1100 Myanmar workers. - Agencies
