156 Bruneian students attend patriotism briefing

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Some 156 Year 7 students from Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School attended a nationhood briefing titled ‘Our Monarch, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem’, organised by the Nationhood Unit of the Strategic Communications Division of the Information Department under the Prime Minister’s Office.

The briefing, which took place at the multi-purpose hall of the school was delivered by Head of the Nationhood Unit of the Strategic Communications Division Noorhijrah Idris.

She touched upon the benevolent monarch, the history and correct procedure for hoisting the national flag, and the history of the national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan.

In addition, students also watched an animation video titled Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera and had the opportunity to participate in a quiz to further enhance their understanding of the briefing.

The programme was part of the Information Department’s efforts to instil a love for the monarch, religion, race, and country while strengthening solidarity and patriotism among students. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
