BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Following viral posts circulating on social media regarding water supply disruptions and QR code scanning for water bill payments, the Public Works Department (JKR) under the Ministry of Development clarified that this information pertains to a neighbouring country, not in Brunei Darussalam.
The department has urged the public not to circulate this misinformation in order to maintain public order.

In another development, the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office, continued its national briefing programme on ‘Our Monarch, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’ with a recent visit to Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School.
Some 156 Year 7 students attended the briefing held at the school’s multi-purpose hall. Also present were Deputy Principal (Administration) Hajah Rosiah binti Haji Gharip and the teaching staff.
The briefing was delivered by Head of the Nationhood Unit of the Strategic Communication Division Hajah Noorhijrah Idris.
The presentation covered topics on the benevolent monarch, the history and proper procedures for hoisting the national flag and the history of Brunei Darussalam’s national anthem, Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
Additionally, the students watched an animated video titled Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera and had the opportunity to participate in a quiz to enhance their understanding of the briefing.
The programme was part of the Information Department’s ongoing efforts to instil love for the monarch, religion, nation and country. It is also aimed at further strengthening the spirit of solidarity, patriotism and national pride among students. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
