BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Ministry of Health on Thursday (Jan 16) launched the latest version of the BruHealth app, BruHealth 5.0, featuring four new updates designed to make health management more accessible, personalised, and engaging for users.

The official launch, held at the International Convention Centre, was officiated by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Mohammad Isham Jaafar.

One of the major highlights of BruHealth 5.0 is the integration of the National Cervical Cancer Screening Programme, now accessible through the app. This programme joins the existing national screening programmes for breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and cardiovascular diseases.

“Screening can be done with ease by booking an appointment in the BruHealth app,” said the minister.

He urged eligible women to undergo screenings to detect and treat HPV before it progresses to cancer.

Personalised Health Index feature has been enhanced with a smarter, more concise questionnaire that considers nutrition, stress, physical health, and sleep quality.

“The health index score is not just a number,” the minister explained. “It is a gateway to personalised advice and goals tailored to each person’s lifestyle.”

The Routine Tracker feature allows users to track their exercise, food intake, sleep duration, water consumption, and medication schedule in one place.

“This holistic tracker empowers individuals to take control of their daily routines, supporting better overall health,” said the minister.

Adding an element of fun, the Oyen Challenge introduces a digital cat that users can care for by achieving health goals.

“Imagine earning rewards and competing with family and friends while managing your health,” said the minister.

“This feature aims to make health management more engaging and enjoyable for all.”

The minister described BruHealth 5.0 as more than just an application: “BruHealth is our partner in the health journey. Every step, check-in, and recorded activity contributes valuable insights to shaping the future of healthcare in Brunei.”

He also highlighted the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve personal care, optimise resource allocation, and support better decision-making within the healthcare system.

The minister announced that the BN On the Move Challenge will return this year with enhanced features and broader participation.

“We welcome everyone to join the challenge, stay active, and track their steps together for a healthier nation,” he said.

Visitors to the 30th Consumer Fair can explore BruHealth’s advancements at its exhibition, featuring nine themed booths such as BruHealth Support Hub, Advanced Tech, HPV Screening, Interactive Games and The Oyen Challenge Activities Exciting activities such as Spin-the-Wheel Games and Lucky Draws also offer visitors the chance to win exclusive BruHealth merchandise. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
