Nationhood briefing fosters patriotism among students in Brunei

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office, continued its series of the nationhood briefing programme on ‘Our Monarch, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’ at the Sports School on Tuesday (Jan 14).

Some 56 Year 7 students attended the briefing at the school’s lecture theatre.

Deputy Principal (Academic) Norjalina Jaafar and teaching staff were also present.

Information Officer Mufidah Abdul Hakim, as Head of the Strategic Communications Section delivered the briefing on the monarch, the history and procedure for hoisting the national flag, as well as the history of Brunei Darussalam’s national anthem ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’.

Students also watched an animated video on Flag Raising Procedure and participated in a quiz to enhance their understanding.

The programme was part of the Information Department’s ongoing efforts to instil love for the monarch, religion, nation and country.

It is also aimed at further strengthening the spirit of solidarity, patriotism and national pride among students. - Borneo Bulletin/ANN
