Empowering orphans through choice: JCI EMKL’s heartfelt charity event win many hearts


KLANG: JCI Entrepreneur Metropolitan Kuala Lumpur, in partnership with FRIMEC Sales & Services Sdn Bhd, Pusat Pakaian Hari-Hari and KFC Malaysia proudly hosted its annual charity event aimed at empowering orphans through the freedom of choice.

This year, for the third year the event is organised supported 44 orphans and under deserving children from the Good Samaritan Home, giving them the opportunity to shop for their new clothes, shoes, school bags, and stationery.

This initiative stands out from traditional donation drives by giving orphans the ability to shop for their essentials, fostering a sense of autonomy and self-expression. Through this approach, the programme underscores the importance of personal choices in shaping their futures, even amidst challenging circumstances.

“It’s not just about giving material items; it’s about giving them the power to make decisions, boosting their confidence, and showing them that they are loved and supported by their community,” said Taylor Chan, the Organising Chairlady of the programme.

The 44 orphans and under deserving children who participated in this year’s event walked away with more than just new clothes and school supplies.

“They left with a renewed sense of dignity, empowerment, and hope for the future. By making their own selections, they experienced the

joy of choice and self-expression—essential steps in building self-esteem and confidence.

A literary extravaganza awaits
