IT seems both Nadeera Zaini and Hael Husaini just cannot stop impressing their fans.
After winning hearts at the Asian Television Awards in Jakarta recently, the duo who under top label Rocketfuel Entertainment, once again were at their best at last week's Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL39) event at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.
Rising star Nadeera clinched the second place for her song ‘Bukan Lagi Kita’, which was written and composed by fellow contestant Hael Husaini and Iqie Hugh.
Hael, who won the prestigious 'Best Theme Song' award at 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards held in Singapore recently, was also one of the finalist at the event.
But it was his composition of 'Bukan Lagi Kita' that was among the winners of the night.
Sabahan singer Marsha Milan was crowned champion of the night when the 39-year-old captivated both the audience and jury with an emotional performance of her song ‘Hening Rindu’, composed by Ikhwan Fatanna and Wan Saleh with lyrics written by Ikhwan.
Marsha, who began her career as a contestant in the third season of local popular singing competition Akademi Fantasia, received a RM100,000 cash prize along with a trophy.
As for the 32-year-old Nadeera, this was her first time competing in AJL and the second place saw her receiving RM50,000 in cash prize along with a trophy.
Third place went to local band Akim & The Majistret who brought home a total of RM30,000 prize along with a trophy after giving a clean and energetic performance of their song ‘Saksama’ which was composed and written by the band themselves and Bunga Cantik.
Meanwhile, singer Aina Abdul obtaned a RM12,000 cash prize and a trophy after winning the Best Performance award through her song ‘Puas Sudah’ while Ernie Zakri also brought home a trophy and the same amount of cash reward after being awarded the Best Vocal Award for her performance of ‘Aura’.
"This is one of my biggest day of my career. I have been singing since 2012 and making the final in AJL itself was a big achievement for me. Winning the second place was an incredible gift," said the elated Nadeera.
"This achievement will indeed help me to push even further. I thank Rocketfuel for their support and I aim to achieve more in my career. I also thank Hael and Iqie for gifting me this wonderful song."
Meanwhile, Hael, who has been impressing all with his single 'Diam', an amazing song that has won admirers all over South-East Asia, however, slipped and fell during his performance.
But the 37-year-old star, who has also impressed many with his acting skills in many local tv dramas, carried on singing despite the slip but that proved costly for the main awards.
"It is just one of those days. It was unfortunate. I fell but I continued singing. I'm glad I did that. I just felt the show must go on," said the cheerful Hael.
"Thing is, I'm just as happy to see Nadeera to be considered among the best. I wish all the winners my best wishes. They deserve it. All of us (local entertainers) have worked hard to be in the final and that itself is an achievement.
"My aim now is to continue producing and singing good music. And of course, my hope is to see Nadeera continue her good run and her blossoming career.":
Recently, Hael was also invited for the Paris Fashion Show and many were also impressed with his down-to-earth attitude and good fashion combinations at the event.
"It has been a very good year (2024). I really hope I can keep it going. As an entertainer, I thank all my wonderful fans for their kindness and support. I will do all to continue making them happy with my music."
After his many successes in the local scene, he was also awarded the prestigious 'Best Theme Song' award at 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards held in Singapore recently.
Hael won he prestigious Asian award in Singapore when the ever-popular 'Diam' which itself was the main song Astro's Malay drama series "My famous ex-boyfriend", also one most watched tv drama in the region this year.
"Diam", besides being the theme song for the drama series, is also part of Hael's studio "Antonim Part I" itself considered an amazing work for Malaysian music last season.
"A special thanks also to my producers and label Rocketfuel. This is victory is also theirs and especially for standing by me all these years. And now my only hope is to produce more top songs with Rocketfuel," said Hael.
"I just want to promise my fans that I will not stop getting better. What is a singer without his fans, family, friends, teammates and record label... And I will do all I can to improve and continue impressing everyone is involved in my career," Hael added.
