UBS gets SBL borrower status


PETALING JAYA: UBS Securities Malaysia is the first foreign broker to be granted authorised borrower status under the reintroduction of regulated short-selling on Bursa Malaysia. 

In a statement yesterday, Equity Swaps Asia head Joe Cavatoni said UBS was able to offer its clients a fuller and more comprehensive suite of products with the introduction of this activity under the Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) framework.
