Petronas, Exxon sign US$2.1bil production sharing agreement

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has signed a production-sharing agreement with a unit of ExxonMobil for a US$2.1bil deal to develop seven existing offshore oil fields.

“The key objective of the PSC is to meet Petronas and its partners’ aspiration to extract more from matured fields through EOR (enhanced oil recovery) and to sustain the current production of the Tapis crude blend,” Petronas said in a statement yesterday.
