Big task for US to restore consumer confidence


THE signing of the most sweeping set of financial reforms since the Great Depression in the United States seems to have generated more harsh criticism than applause from the public.

Almost four in five Americans surveyed in a Bloomberg National Poll last month said they had just a little or no confidence that it would prevent or significantly soften a future crisis.
