Factory output edged up 1.8% in November

PETALING JAYA: Factory output as measured by the industrial production index (IPI) edged up 1.8% in November compared with a year ago, due to a rise in the manufacturing and electricity sub-indices.

However, output slowed when compared with October, which was revised to 2.9% year-on-year from 2.8%. November's IPI data was far below the 3.5% median estimates of economists in a Bloomberg survey.
