Telekom Malaysia shares take a beating

PETALING JAYA: Shares in Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) took a beating as investors reacted negatively to its weaker first quarterly results and future earnings drag from its mobile wireless venture.

Its shares plunged 37 sen to RM6.90 in early trade but later recovered to close 29 sen lower at RM6.99, wiping out over RM1bil from its market capitalisation.
