BAssets buys Oriental Assemblers for RM32.5mil

The principal activities of Oriental Assemblers are vehicle assembly, manufacturing and sale of engines and transmissions.

Meanwhile, Oriental Holdings Bhd told Bursa Malaysia that the sale of Oriental Assemblers, in which it has a 97.98% stake, was in line with the group's strategy to exit the automotive assembly operations and focus more on the lucrative retail business.

It added that the disposal was expected to result in an estimated loss of RM6.54mil to the group.
